About

Traditional Chinese medicine, practiced to a modern standard of evidence

As a faith-based organization, LightHill Acupuncture is called to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by serving the community with the various modalities of traditional Chinese medicine.

We are determined to carry out the most effective treatments for all patients equally and honestly, to the best of our abilities — adopting the concept of evidence-based practice, so that the benefits of what we do are supported by scientific research.

Practitioner

Dr. Ming-Huei Liu, DACM, L.Ac.

Dr. Liu graduated as valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA in the Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program at Texas Health and Science University, then received his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science in 2021, with a primary focus on evidence-based practice.

He has many years of experience across medical settings, including several years working in the emergency rooms of Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth, Alliance and Azle. He was also trained by — and is heavily influenced by — Dr. Chung-Hwei Chernly, the very first acupuncturist licensed in Texas. He continues to study overseas once a year to sharpen his skills.

Arriving from China at age 14 and later training in Western medicine, Dr. Liu has devoted his career to integrating the natural approach of Chinese medicine with the evidence-based concepts of Western medicine, to offer patients the best of both.

He has served at Glory Chinese Baptist Church since 2004 as a worship leader, choir member, Sunday school teacher, fellowship leader and janitorial volunteer — experience that shaped how he listens to and cares for people.
